TMesh Broadcasting Tools

Netgames 2003 technical sessions will be broadcast live using the following software developed as part of the End-host Multicast project at the Unversity of Michigan. (The scheduled broadcast is now over. You may still visit us over here.)

In our End-host Multicast project, we have designed the TMesh protocol that enables efficient multicast with a peer-to-peer approach. We have implemented a prototype of our protocol and built a library with the necessary APIs. With this library, we have also developed a video/audio broadcasting tool, which leverages existing Apple Quicktime and MPlayer to playback the media content. Currently this tool is still under development.

Our software will listen on tcp port 5002, please set it open if you run a personal firewall. The bitrate of the broadcasting is about 400 kbps.

Due to equipment limitations, the audio may be faint. Increasing the volume on headphones or speakers could be necessary.
